Hiccups are a well-known issue for most people in the world and for the majority it is a benign problem. However, according to a WebMD reference article (“What Are Intractable Hiccups?,” 2021), for a very small population, hiccups can be long lasting and can create long lasting issues. These hiccups are known as Intractable Hiccups. According to the WebMD reference article (2021), “The longest recorded case of intractable hiccups continued for 60 years”.

Out of the Box Tinkerers (OBT) has been hired to conduct research to address the intractable hiccup problem.
