Assignment Overview:
For your final written assignment, which also serves to meet Gordan Rule Writing Credit for this course, you will present researched findings on one specific topic within one identified country. Please review the outline of the assignment provided here and then proceed to submit one primary idea, and one or two secondary ideas if you wish, via D2L “assessments/assignments” “final writing assignment (topic selection)”. Wait for and review my feedback and only proceed once we have an agreed upon topic.
Content Instruction:
Select a country that is not very familiar to you (or you would contend is not very familiar to others). Select a topic that is of interest to you and delve in-depth into that area of focus within the country selected. Your discussion should reflect the contemporary space, rather than an historical event (although historical discussion may help place the contemporary event). For example:
You may have an interest in the health sciences and wish to look at maternal health care in the country of Burkina Faso.
You may have an interest in sports and wish to look at the emerging skateboarding scene in Ethiopia.
You may have an interest in the culinary arts and wish to look at the changing culinary scene in Chile.
You may have an interest in human rights work and wish to explore the recent demonstrations and protest by farmers in India.
There is an endless array of topics to explore. Your job at this point is just to provide me with an area you are interested in exploring and a country to match, and I will help you from there.
Formatting Instruction:
Your paper must be typed and double-spaced using Times New Roman, 12-point font, left justified with one-inch margins.
You must use APA (the citation preference for the social sciences) for a cover page, in-text-citations (author last name, year) and a separate reference page.
You must employ a minimum of five sources, at least two of which must be academic journal references.
Your paper must reach four full pages (not including the cover page or reference page). No additional headings are needed on the first page of your paper.
It is highly recommended that you consult with the Online Librarian at Broward College, Simone Williams and take advantage of online support offered by the Academic Success Center (ASC)
The format will be reviewed by me the week prior to the final due date, although outside consultation should be made prior if needed.
