After reading/watching the information provided on Freud’s Psychoanalytic Theory, you will be choosing a character in Othello to analyze using Freud’s theories. Each of the characters in the play can easily be analyzed using Freud’s theories. However, I do believe that either Iago, Othello, Roderigo, Emilia, or Desdemona, would be the best choices. You may also choose to discuss three characters and how each character correlates with one aspect of Freud’s understanding of the subconscious mind (Id, Ego, and Superego).
