For the second half of class we will be watching a lecture on Women’s roles in the Abolition Movement and the Suffrage Movement after the Civil War. This period between 1865-1877 is known as Reconstruction because the United States attempted to rewrite the definition of citizen and a citizen’s rights during this period.
