This assignment is designed to have students apply what you have learned in this class to your specific area of interests or research, such as work/career, family life, social networks, community programs, schools, etc.

The purpose of this paper is to take a specific environment or social context and examine course concepts in that environment or context across the lifespan. Students must write a 5-7 page paper that: Utilizes a Neurodiversity framework for autism Focuses on ONE specific environment or setting that can affect an autistic person across the lifespan. Students should choose ONE of the following environments, OR a different environment related to their own research interests. Academics / School Community Programs Interpersonal Relationships (friends & dating) Family Support Healthcare Covers autism across the entire lifespan, including: Early Childhood Middle Childhood and Adolescence Emerging Adulthood Adulthood and Aging Cites course lectures at least 4 times and reading materials at least 4 times, properly (described in detail below). Your paper should be 5-7 pages, double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font with 1” margins. Students should use headers to divide your paper into clear subsections (see the example paper for how you might accomplish this). You will be graded on: Citations and Formatting: Papers should follow APA format. Students are expected to cite course videos (Author, Week) at least 4 times and course readings (Author, Year) at least 4 times throughout the paper. This means students should have at least 8 total unique citations throughout the paper. Citations should paraphrase content, not insert long block quotes, and should use the sandwich method of citing (introduce the citation, the citation, discuss or explain the citation).
