Purpose: Addressing vaccine hesitancy and refusal among families continues to be a significant challenge for many practicing physicians. Engaging and address both persistent myths and thoughtful questions regarding safety and efficacy of vaccines in the context of a busy practice requires skills and resources. Below are training materials about vaccine safety communication.

This is a 3-part assignment.
1. Complete the Immunization Case Study-provide a screenshot of your case study and you must score 100%. The case study can be retaken several times.
2. Complete the SBAR Template according to the (read the instructions) instructions on the SBAR template: SBAR Template.docx,
3. Complete a 1 to 1 ½ page paper with the following information:
• What did you learn?
• How many questions did you have to go back and correct?
• Explain the tools you have at your disposal to assist with questions regarding immunizations and vaccines.
• Explain how you will incorporate infant, adolescent and adult (include elderly) in your future nursing practice.
• Discuss the Core competency and the SLO(s) associated with this assignment.
4. Upload each document separately and correctly (example: Case Study, SBAR, Paper). Your assignment will be returned as incomplete if this is not done according to the instructions. If your instructor can not access your documents, your assignment is considered late.

Selection of Immunization Case Studies:
• The following cases are designed to present real-life scenarios of vaccine safety communication. Trainees are asked a series of questions and provided with immediate feedback for their responses. Most cases have video clips embedded to demonstrate effective vaccine safety communication. (Videos provided by AAP California Chapter 4). Modules are available for Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine. A pre- and post-test allow learners to evaluate their progress.
• The modules are prepared using Captivate Program administrators can track performance measures of the participants when linked to a learning management system. They can also update the modules as desired.
