Part 3: Americana Music Appreciation.
Directions:
So far you have identified and investigated the origin and an artist of Americana music. You’re almost done! Being a teacher, I have learned to always save the best for last, so here it is!
In this section, you will provide a list of at least 10 Americana songs. Listen to each song before listing them. See how each song makes you feel while you listen. For each song that you list, provide BETWEEN 5-8 sentences on your opinion of that song. Some you may enjoy while others maybe not so enjoyable to your ear. Describe why you either like or dislike the song, any parts you relate to in each song ( For example, can you relate to the lyrics? Do you just like the background music?) Other topics to include in your sentences are how the music makes you feel, any importance of the song through history, what instruments are used, how the song may have influenced other artists or songs, etc.
Remember, this is YOUR opinion, so there are no wrong answers. Have fun with this. Use sites like Spotify and youtube for listening. Below you may either use the format I provide or you can create your own format.
