What perceptions did you come into this class with regarding 20th-century American history? How have your perceptions changed about a particular topic(s) and/or individuals? How will you apply what you learned in this course after this term ends? How will you discuss 20th-century American history within your own community? What topics and themes will you emphasize? (Topics and themes can include changing ideas about race, gender, class, settler colonialism, religion, Indigenous history, segregation, social movements, women’s roles in American society, etc.). A Range
Project was visually appealing and formatting made sense for the presentation of the chosen historical figure. Project demonstrated a clear ability to evaluate sources and craft original arguments. Presentation drew on lecture and at least two assigned primary/secondary sources to historically contextualize person along with additional research using scholarly websites/archives/databases. Project demonstrated a full understanding of the person’s life and their significance to U.S. history, and the larger importance of 20th century U.S. History. Project consistently utilized citations and had a space for a works cited section.
