Marvel Cinematic Universe films

Prompt:
The YouTube video “The Marvel Symphonic Universe (Links to an external site.)” and other (Links to an external site.) popular (Links to an external site.) sources (Links to an external site.) make an argument that the immensely popular Marvel Cinematic Universe films, particularly prior to Black Panther (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019), suffer from weak musical scoring. Using evidence from Carol Flinn’s article “The Most Romantic Art of All” and considering the role of film music as discussed in class, do you believe the detractors of the MCU’s scores are correct? Why or why not? Be sure to think about Flinn’s thoughts about film music and Gesamtkunstwerk.
You may choose to use any of the sources we have discussed in class to support your argument (and you must cite at least two of them). In addition, please find and cite at least one additional relevant source that further strengthens your argument. You do not need to have seen any MCU films to write this paper, though you are welcome to cite the films themselves.
