Assignment: DESCRIBE AN OBJECT
Think of an object that’s important to you in some way. Maybe this is something you carry with you everyday and use frequently, or maybe it’s an object that has sentimental value or personal significance. Don’t just choose your phone: think about it for awhile and try to choose an object that your reader wouldn’t expect — either because it’s unique to your background and interests, or because it’s so ordinary that no one would ever think to write about it.
GOAL AND PURPOSE
To help your reader experience the object by drawing on the five senses — sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.
To help your reader understand the object and its role in your life by providing context, explanation, or anecdote/story where it’s needed.
