Assignment Goals
The purpose of this assignment is to:
Research population-level disparities in the current health care system
Identity efforts that FNPs can take to address health care disparities
PREPARATION
Select and read a current scholarly research article (an article on Health Care Disparities that was published within the last 3 years in a peer reviewed journal). After reading the article, write a one page (double-spaced) analysis that addresses the following questions:

1. Provide a brief critical analysis of the article. The following questions represent the type of information you might want to cover as part of your analysis:

What was your reaction to the article?
What limitations, if any, were present in the research (e.g., low response rates)?
Was the sampling technique/size used effective for this study?
Were there any obvious biases?
2. As an FNP in practice what specific actions can you take to address these disparities?

3. Health care policy is the key to addressing many of the issues involved in disparities. How
can an FNP be involved in health care policy which is important in examining and addressing
these issues?
