The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate an understanding of the important concepts
learned in Module 5. This is a three-part assignment worth 100 points and it will take
approximately 5-10 hours to complete.
Complete all three parts of the assignment in one document using Microsoft Word with
extension.doc. Submit completed document using the file upload feature in Blackboard. Failure

1. Part 1:(30 points) assesses your ability to correctly identify the concepts of disease process
and the processes of pathophysiology as related to clinical manifestations and treatment.
2. Part 2: (50 points) assesses your ability to compare and contrast major disease and use
medical language to classify general disease concepts. Your discussion should include risk
factors, predisposition, and prevention factors of disease.
3. Part 3: (20 points) will help you demonstrate your ability to summarize the Health Information
Practitioner’s role in areas of technical expertise related to coding of diagnosis, procedures, and
statistical reporting in acute and non-acute settings.
