n a 1.5 to 2 page paper (12 pt font, Times New Roman, double spaced), analyze the Port Huron Statement (TS 60-70). It is one of the seminal documents of the 1960s. It was written by college students and it encapsulated a large number of their fears and hopes. In your paper, you must answer the following questions:
What wrongs did the students identify?
Were the wrongs local, national, or global?
What makes the students different than most Americans (according to the students)? Why does this difference push the students to offer a plan for change?
What did these students want, and how were they going to get it?
Your paper should a have an introduction, a thesis (what are the concerns and the hopes of the authors of the Port Huron Statement), and a conclusion. Utilize the textbook for background information and support your argument with specific examples. No outside reading or bibliography is needed. Please cite your sources (any format). We’ll go over citations later in the semester, so citations don’t need to be perfectly formatted right now.
