There are three parts to the newspaper commentary (and the book report, and extra credit project if you choose to do it). They all follow the same structure.
Part 1=summarize
Part 2=relevance-Review the “aspects sheet” of topics and chapters in the supplemental section. Choose 2 topics, from 2 different chapters to connect to your newspaper article. FOR EACH TOPIC CHOICE, include 1 paragraph explaining the text factual material about the topic, followed by A SECOND PARAGRAPH which explains why this topic relates to the newspaper article. You will do this two times (one for each topic chosen).
Part 3=critique.
