Case Analysis Brief (LEGOS)

You are to individually analyze and write a two-page case analysis for the LEGO Group: An Outsourcing Journey.
Case analysis briefs are due by the end of the day listed on the course schedule. Case analysis briefs should be short synopsis– not to exceed two pages, single-spaced (typed); the smallest typeface allowed is 11-point with 1-inch margins all around. You can also include a one-page Appendix that includes supporting tables, charts, and figures. Please also include a cover page with the name of the case, date, your name, course, and the professor’s name. The grading of the briefs will be based on the quality of your analysis. Merely restating case facts will not help your grade and, in fact, will use up valuable space in your brief. In writing your briefs, assume that you are a consultant to the company who is being paid to analyze the company’s situation and make a set of recommendations.
For each case analysis, you should:

Identify the core problems and issues being faced by the organization (or the core opportunities that are potentially exploitable).
Based on your analysis, make specific recommendations on the course of action that should be pursued by the organization looking at both short- and long-term.
Discuss the implementation of your recommendation and again look at both the short- and long-term.
Clearly identifies the root problem in one sentence and lists multiple causes
Identifies information not included in the case that is needed to make an adequate
decision and states assumptions made about the information
Identifies a variety of possible solutions to the problem
Thoroughly analyzes both the positive and negative consequences of each
alternative
Recommends an appropriate course of action for both short- and long-term and
supports it with systematic rationale
Provides an implementation plan of your recommendation that looks at short- and
long-term actions
Paper is well organized; paragraphs and ideas flow coherently
Professional writing with an articulate and appropriate tone
Grammar (sentence structure, subject/verb agreement, pronoun/antecedent
agreement, etc.)
Punctuation, capitalization, or spelling errors
