Memorandum

In light of the scenario described below, write a memorandum to the president of Shifty Convenience Stores and Gas Emporia, Inc.,discussing the legal propriety of the non-escalation policy and informal “gun free zone” status of Shifty stores, analyzing whether Shifty is likely liable for wrongful termination, and recommending a course of action for the lawsuit.
You may assume that there is no case law or statute directly on point in Kirkwood. And you may also assume that Kirkwood courts find what courts in other states have done in similar circumstances to be very helpful to consider, but that they are not bound by other jurisdictions’ prior decisions. Rather, in cases of first impression such as this, Kirkwood courts will make the soundest decision based on considerations of logic and public policy.

Format: You will draft a memorandum analyzing the situation and providing a recommendation for action based on that analysis. The memorandum is a piece of formal, business writing (as opposed to academic/scholarly or creative writing, not in the sense that it is necessarily tied to the business school disciplines).
It should include a formal memorandum heading (as depicted in Appendix A to this assignment)(file attached). Please use 12-point Times New Roman font. Set margins for one inch on all sides. Double space the text and include page numbers on all pages.
