One of the hallmarks of academic projects is that we give credit where credit is due! We are all part of a community of learners and we want to recognize the contributions of others and how their work has informed our own. The way we do this is by
Citing our source material for all facts, ideas, and direct quotes that come from someone else
Putting any text that is word for word from a source in quotation marks (or clearly stating it is a quote in audio/ video formats)
But, when we’re working on a research project, we can often lose track of what we got where or how close to the original that particular section of text is. So we check ourselves! That’s what this step of the Course Project is all about.
