Until one crafts a proposal for healthcare legislation, one cannot fully appreciate the process. You will write a proposal for new healthcare legislation to be presented by your political party to the citizens of the United States. It will be an hour long televised presentation. There should be a review of where we are as a nation, where we are heading, and what will happen to the healthcare system if we do not change course.
This assignment will the first stage of completing theHealthcare Proposal: Paper Assignment. Create an outline of your proposed healthcare policy and provide details of how that proposal will be researched and written. This assignment does not have to reflect your final proposal verbatim but you should be close to having a rough idea of what you would like to see included in the next major healthcare legislation proposed to Congress (the instructor). Nothing at this point is too bold and you do not have to cite research at this time. Place everything down on paper and then work from the outline to produce your proposal
The Proposal Outline should conform to the following format to assure alignment of the assignment with the Healthcare Proposal: Outline Grading Rubric:
• Legislative Proposal:
o Write a brief bulleted outline of your key legislative points.
• Key Terms:
o What key word will need to be defined in this legislation so the reader has a clearer understanding of the proposal?
• Overview of Legislation:
o A brief overview of how your legislation will meet all the required needs of the healthcare policy. This should be no more than 200 words.
• Conclusion:
o What information/research do you still need to find to complete your proposal? How can the instructor help you with your proposal?
• The length of assignment will depend on where you are in the research and the process of writing. There is no minimum number of pages but your outline should be as thorough as possible about what your proposal will include.
• The format of assignment (APA, AMA) should follow the formatting style utilized within your degree program.
• The number of citations may vary and are not specifically required for this assignment. If you wish to include citations to help organize your paper, please do so and follow established citation formats.
