This research project will require the student to investigate and compare two incidents that resulted in occupant loss of life. The student must be able to describe similarities about the incidents. We identified mixed occupancy and change in occupancy in chapter 1 & 2. After reading the E2 Nightclub Disaster on page 53 in your book, elaborate on how you will look at building exits (egress) and congestion of the structure that you are in. Did you point out exist in your normal day to day life prior to reading the E2 Nightclub Disaster? A similar incident occurred at the Station Night Club in 2003 (link provide in folder) compare the similarities of the incident and the importance of fire code, and situational awareness in your daily life and in your professional life as fire fighter, EMS, or police officer (public safety). Elaborate on why you think it should be important to make a mental note of exists in a building before the emergency occurs. Use the first four chapters to help write your paper and the provided link on the summary report of the Station Night Club Fire in your Schoology folder marked writing assignment.
