-Each prompt has it own document with sources for each prompt. There will be 4 sources per prompt.

Prompt 1: Create a list that explains the differences between classical theory, positivist theory, and neoclassical theory. Make an argument for which theory best explains crime and deviance in your neighborhood. Make an argument for whether intelligence and crime are related.

Prompt 2: Compare and contrast at least two of the following theories: general strain theory, differential opportunity theory, social disorganization theory, differential association, and techniques of neutralization. Make an argument for how one of the theories explains the concerns of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Prompt 3:Summarize the important work of W. E. B. Dubois. Define labeling theory. Summarize the “Michael Eric Dyson on Rap and Hip-Hop” lecture and explain how the mainstream culture labels rappers including conscious rappers. Make an argument for whether rappers and rap music are positive or negatives influences. Provide an example or sample lyrics to support your argument.

-Each typed essay is one page in length, single-spaced, with 12-point fonts, 1-inch margins and topical headings.

– Chapter 7-9 will be available to read and understand the prompt

-Citations and references are presented in the American Sociological Association (ASA) style.

-Compare and contrast your line spacing with the directions in the course syllabus.

-Respond completely to the assignment criteria.

-When using topical headings in any report, at least two are required.

-Make sure overall analyses are not brief, make sure it’s lengthy and very explainable.
