Write a multi-paragraph essay (at least 2 paragraphs and 300 words) that fully develops the topic on the use of violence in literature. There are several examples of violence in the portion of Aeneid that we read that represent a wide array of uses: (1) the Trojan War, itself, (2) the death of Laocoon and his two sons, (3) the attack on Troy after the Greeks evacuate the wooden horse, (4) the violent death of Priam, and (5) the death of Aeneas’s parents. Using the justifications provided in chapter 11 of How to Read Literature Like a Professor and rationales of your own, what is the purpose of the use of violence throughout the “Fall of Troy”? Make sure to use examples from both the Aeneid and HTRLLAP that are properly formated. Make sure to pay specific attention to your use of MLA Format and wordiness in writing because they will constitute the majority of your grade on this essay.
