Select and research the literature on one of the learning theories, principles, or styles discussed in chapter 18. Utilize educational textbooks, original publications, and peer-reviewed journal articles. Scholarly reference(s) must be from a relevant peer-reviewed journal article, book, or website (e.g. .edu, gov, or .org websites) published within the past 5 years. Do Not use a website ending in .com. Students may use a source greater than five years when the publication is an original article or textbook from the author.
Write a one-page summary of the selected theory and how it can be applied to a health problem in your practice. Describe the selected learning theory. Did the theory incorporate any concepts of memory, motivation, and thinking? What is the health problem? How would you educate your patient using the theory based on the health problem? As a future advanced practice nurse (APN), what techniques and interventions would enhance the patient’s understanding to promote and maintain their health?
