Write a critical art analysis on a painting, drawing, sculpture, or another piece of visual art from an art museum gallery, in-person or online. In the folder, I have included links to online art galleries for The Columbus Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The British Museum. Or, you may choose another art museum of your liking. You must write your paper using the MLA style format. Provide a link or photograph of your selected artwork on the Works Cited page so that I may view it.
You must reference at least one source from either the artist, an art critic, or analyst who has previously commented on the selected work or artist. In many cases, this analysis is available on the museum website or a GALILEO search. You must also properly cite at least one quote or paraphrase from each source on a specific aspect or interpretation of the selected work.
The required elements and grading rubric for this assignment are included in the assignment folder. Use the art analysis guide from the Khan Academy Art History series to focus your analysis, and try to connect your selected artwork with a culture we are studying in the course.
