You will select and analyze a short story from the literature anthology. You have the freedom to address the story you have read in any of the following ways:
A
You can write a standard literary analysis in which you cover any of the standard literary angles—plot, theme, characterizations, etc. Pay attention to the way in which the style of the story contributes to the authors intention or the impact of the story.
B
You may write a personal response in which you relate how the story has affected you. Choose this method if you have found a personal connection in the piece that you want to address.
C
You may also use the style of any selection you read and try to reproduce that style while telling your own fictional story.
