Being in preschool helps children grow in many ways – physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Different schools and preschools may emphasize different areas of development. The Montessori schools have a strong cognitive bent. Project Head Start is used as a tool to provide health care, intellectual enrichment, and a supportive environment to improve social competence. Head Start was implemented to improve the learning experience. The latest research suggests that preschool education works in terms of the child’s performance and has wider societal ramifications.
