The proposal should be a 1 page summary of
the key ideas, claims, and basic thesis.
You also need to include an annotated
bibliography with a minimum of 5 academic sources. The annotations
should be about one paragraph/a few sentences describing the key claims of the
article.
The purpose of this assignment is to show
that you have started researching for your final paper and have a direction and
argument. I will provide feedback to help you as you work on the final paper.
Major Research Paper
Your written assignment is a research paper
on a topic of your choosing as long as it is from a sociological
perspective.
I chose: How
pets and animals have helped people during the difficult times of the Covid-19
Pandemic in Canada and other countries.
The paper should be between 6- 8 double
spaced pages. As this is a research paper, you should draw on a minimum of
seven empirical, scholarly, social science sources (these should be
outside/in addition to the require readings for the course).
The paper should review what is known about your
topic and provide insights/implications for future research in the area.
