For this assignment, you are tasked with analyzing one of the major media forms through which
political discussion occurs in our contemporary society. You should first choose from the options
of media formats to write on, including political television shows and documentary films. You
should then choose a title from the list below that that is either liberal- or conservative-leaning to
focus your paper on. If you want to choose a title, not on this list, you need to first email me to
get permission. Your paper should analyze both what the ideology of this show/documentary is,
and how exactly your chosen text communicates this ideology. While you are not required to do
so, I would recommend that you choose a title that does not align with your own political
views, as doing so can make it easier to interrogate the ideology of the text.
