Write an essay in which you evaluate your favorite movie. Make sure that your film evaluation presents a value judgment about the movie. Once you’ve made a judgment, it is your job to gather support for it. You need to think about the criteria that you deem as valuable for critiquing a movie. The criteria you established for evaluating your topic helps you build your claim as to the value of your movie.
Organize your evaluation logically so that your readers can follow your train of thought.

Choose a movie that you love.
Include an original title that reflects the topic of the paper.
To support your evaluation, you are expected to provide details and examples with the film that develop and support the criteria you’re chosen.
Remember! What criteria do we use to evaluate movies? Plot? Acting? Action sequences? Love story? Music? Special effects? The list goes on and on…
Include an introductory paragraph, at least 4 body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph.
Include a thesis statement that presents your film and the value that you place on it.
Give your reader ONE paragraph of short plot summary. Not everyone has seen this movie.
You need at least three pieces of criteria with which to rate your film. (One paragraph for each.)
At least ONE source formatted according to MLA style.
Include specific sensory details that bring your descriptions to life. Choose details that enable you to show rather than tell — descriptive adjectives and vivid verbs.
Organize your paper logically, with clear topic sentences and transitions to move the reader along and help your reader understand the value of the film.
Pay careful attention to grammar, usage, and mechanics.
Include analysis. Write about the “why” and the “how”. Don’t just tell me you like the movie. Tell me WHY.
