1. Review current research from Critical Care Nursing journals related to a critical
care issue in the adult, pediatric or neonatal population (*Body system assigned
by course Faculty).
2. Based on the system/area assigned, select an article for approval that was
published in the last 5 years and reflect innovate trends in critical care
management.
3. Complete a scholarly paper based on the following assignment guidelines:
a. Include an abstract with appropriate searchable key words.
b. Provide a summary of the article to include the following:
i. Background
ii. Purpose
iii. Methodology
iv. Limitations of the study
c. Discuss findings/recommendations outlined in the study.
d. Compare the findings/recommendations with similar studies completed on the
topic by other researchers. Demonstrate that extensive reading was done.
e. Apply with documentary evidence findings/recommendations to nursing
education and clinical practice in the Bahamas.
f. Include statistical data, and other visual materials to support the discussion.
g. APA style and format must be used for the paper.
Submission guidelines:
1. The document must reflect APA style and formatting and should be no more than
4-6 pages (not including abstract, appendix and reference pages)
2. The approved feature article must be included in the appendix of the document.
3. If an assignment is not uploaded to Turnitin by the final specified due date and
time, the group will receive a zero grade for the assignment.
Similarity/originality report:
1. No document submitted for grading should contain a similarity score greater than
10%. Any document submitted with a similarity score greater than 10% will incur
a failing grade.
2. Each group will be allowed to resubmit as needed before the final due date and
time to confirm their similarity/originality score.
3. Any work uploaded for grading is to be the original work of the student/group.
Any student/group submitting work obtained from another student/group, and
subsequently submits that work as their own will receive a zero grade and have a
request for disciplinary action filed by the course faculty.

• Provides statistical and visual support where appropriate to
enhance discussion e.g.Tables/graphs/charts
• Includes other means of inclusion of documentary evidence to
support discussion e.g. interviews, questionnaires (10 points)
Quality of documentation
• Includes APA style and format
• Maintains academic writing standards i.e. grammar/mechanics
• Maintains proper citations/referencing rules for academic writing
