• Relevant information including location, characteristics of region/country are provided.
• Demographic information related to age, race, sex, income, education.
• Psychographic information should include values, attitudes, and lifestyle information that is pertinent to sport.
II. Content: Historical, cultural, economic, political, religious underpinnings: (7 pts.)
• Relevant historical facts impacting the country are provided. Major points about the culture that contribute to the presentation are included.
• The political situation (type of government) is provided.
• Economic situation.
• Major religions are included.
III. Sports (7)
• Most popular sports.
• How sport is organized and funded.
• Major events hosted.
IV. Scholarly research utilized and referenced: (7 pts.)
• At least 3 relevant scholarly/academic references are utilized.Applicable. Current (last 10 years).
V. Secondary sources used: (3 pts.)
• Secondary sources including newspapers or popular press articles are utilized to compliment academic sources.
VI. Application of sociological concepts, terms, theories: (8 pts)
• Use or relevant and appropriate terms, theories, info is evident.
• Mastery of the terms/theories is evident and applied appropriately and effectively where necessary.
• Influence of sociological terms, theories, info is applied to help understand sport.
VII. Powerpoint rules and use of Notes Pages: (7 pts.)
• A title page, intro page, and reference pages are all utilized.
• Appropriate words per screen.
