Module 3, Dance Research Assignment
Guidelines:
Develop a brief essay (at least five paragraphs, including intro/conclusion, approx 500-750
words) on your chosen DANCE GENRE.
Submission via assignment drop box.
Essay should include the following:
1. The Origins and Development of the genre, including place/country and time
period(s).
2. The Content of the genre and notable elements of it.
3. The Context of your genre and its developments and changes: What was happening in
the world, in society and/or in other arts that influenced, changed or helped to develop it.
4. Describe one or two specific dances (or positions) from your genre and provide visual
representation (ie: you can cut/paste a picture at the end of your document, or include a
link to YouTube or online example).
