Hospitals are being forced to work more efficiently while getting less reimbursement from insurance companies. Some health care organizations are refusing Medicare patients due to low reimbursement rates, causing hospitals to lose large sums of money providing services to Medicare patients. There is a political divide on solving the nation’s health care issues. Some favor a national universal healthcare system, while others favor reducing the government’s role in health care. Today, the United States continues to face the challenge of providing affordable avenues for individuals and families to receive high-quality health care.
For this assignment you will be crafting a 2-page maximum, single spaced plan that concerns the following:
The current Medicare system impacts all components of all types of hospitals. Based on the types of health insurance that have been available in the United States as hospitals and health care have evolved, choose one type of hospital and one component of hospital operations (such as medical staff, management team, patient services, or ancillary services).
Keeping your choices above in mind, discuss how the difficulties of the current Medicare system have impacted your hospital and component, and propose changes to the Medicare system that will improve the functions of the hospital system and the component you selected.
At a minimum, be sure to include the following in your plan:

Then, explain how your hospital and component(s) are impacted by the current Medicare system (Medicare system as a whole, or Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services / CMS). For example,
After identifying how Medicare impacts your hospital type and component, describe what you would include in a plan for change to address the issue identified in #2.
Identify any pros and cons/roadblocks to this plan. Also identify which stakeholders will be impacted and involved in carrying out your plan.
Analyze your plan and justify how it will improve your hospital and component selection.
Use at least 5 credible sources for development of your program and discussion of the organizations, and cite them in-text and in a reference list.
