Assignment 1: Individual Analytical Essay
This assignment empowers you to learn about an economy that is of interest to you. The aim of the essay is to review your chosen economy, critically evaluate its functions, and relate your insights to your future career. Choose from the weekly class topics (Artisan Economy). You can choose the same topic as your group project. You may choose an alternative topic with permission from the instructor:

Part 2: Final Essay (20%) 2000-2500 words – Due: Choose one of two dates, submit Week 8, November 2, OR Week 11 November 23, 5pm.
In Part 2, expand your outline into your complete essay. Include citations for sources:
Definition and Literature: Build on your annotated bibliography (File Uploaded). Define the economy and explain how it functions. Explain how it has evolved historically, how it functions now, and the kinds of economic activities that people do in this economy. Identify the strengths and limitations of this economy.
Organizations: Give a full overview of your 2 organizations – (Please use ETSY as one of the Organizations – PDFS included for reference). Use these as examples to explain how typical organizations operate in this economy. Explain the advantages and disadvantages that these organizations face.
Your career: Give a full explanation of your future career in this economy and explain why it is an appropriate choice for you. Give an explanation of the industry, the type of company, and job you would like to work in. Give a full explanation of how your career would function in this economy. Explain how the advantages and disadvantages you identified would impact your career.
