Asian Tourism and Sporting Events

For this question you may have a choice of two questions- you may answer either one or both.

1) What type of tourism venues have been developed from major international sporting events in Asian nations? Particularly thinking of Olympic games held in China, Japan and Korea, how have facilities been used after the fact to promote and grow tourism activity in those countries and cities? Have these been successful? Have there been any lack of result as predicted? What may be the factors that contribute to success or weakness in re-developing a venue (stadium , hotels, etc.) specifically for international sporting events? Please focus on Asian examples (use internet citations as needed- please use solid sources, n.b. Wikipedia is NOT a valid source or other general inquiry tools such as this), though you may refer to examples from other nations to support your ideas.

2) What are the issues associated with one-time sporting events (as many major events are) in that they may recur sporadically or not at all for the same sport or the same event. How do sporting events fit in the overall tourism approach of countries? What do you think are the key ways that major events showcase well, or not, the overall country for additional tourism?
