T Mini-Analysis: Each student will prepare a mini-analysis of 4-6 pages. The mini-analysis should be double-spaced.It should be titled either “Great Marketing Idea” or “Worst Marketing Idea”. You should enter the general marketplace or the sport marketplace and evaluate and report your selection for the best idea in marketing or worst idea in marketing. You must choose either the greatest or the worst, but do not prepare both. Look for good and bad marketing everywhere: stores, restaurants, services, telephone, advertisements, professional offices, payment plans, billing, contests, clever business names, logos, etc. Your great or worst marketing idea mini analysis should include:
Description of the idea in detail
The purpose of this “idea.” (To correct a problem or wrong impression, increase immediate sales, reduce returns, get referrals, help an allied business learn more demographics of customers, introduce new products or services, show savings, encourage employees to serve customers better, etc.)
Apply any marketing concepts
Evaluate the effectiveness of the “idea”. For the “great” marketing idea, determine if anything could be done to make the idea more effective? (used by others, better publicized, expanded, etc.). For the “worst” marketing idea, clearly state why this idea is the worst (utilizing marketing concepts) and determine what should be done to make the idea more effective if anything. Discuss how you would modify the idea to make it effective.
If the idea is from the general marketplace and it is “great”, include up to a paragraph stating how it can be applied in the sport setting (or how it may be modified to work well in the sport setting). If the idea is from the general marketplace and it is “worst”, include up to a paragraph stating how it can effectively be applied in the sport setting.
