The research paper will have two phases: the first phase with outline and annotated bibliography; and the second phase with completing the final paper.

We will complete the first phase this week. Please see the attachment of the sample outline under the content.

Discuss music and other areas (e.g., music and religion; music and society; music and war; music and culture; music and politics; etc.) Do NOT choose “music and censorship” since we will be talking about this in a few weeks.
Find academic references.
After choosing your topic, make sure to find enough references before writing your outlines. Many students have a hard time finding resources after writing outlines. Thus, your outline comes after finding enough resources/references. Make sure to find ten academic resources (books, peer-reviewed online articles/essays, online journals, etc.)
Write outline.
Your outline should be very specific and detailed. Please see the sample outline under the “content.” The introduction and conclusion may have one sub-heading. However, your body should have at least two sub-headings.
Write bibliography
Write annotated bibliography. Make sure to write an annotation for each resource. In your annotation, please write a brief idea of what they discuss (minimum 50 words per resource
*** IMPORTANT: Once you complete your outline, you cannot change your topic or modify your outline more than 20%. Thus, please spend time researching this week.

Submission should include:

Annotated bibliography (MLA/Chicago style.) Provide a minimum of ten resources.
Detailed outline.
Due by November 2 (late submission by November 6)
