Explain the results of your IAT assessment/test.

There are two parts/steps to this assignment. Students must complete both.
STEP 1: Take the Implicit Association Test (IAT)
Students must complete the Implicit Association Test, please select the Race IAT or Skin-Tone IAT; link provided below: https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html
STEP 2: Write a full essay. A full essay includes an introduction, body paragraphs answering the questions, and a conclusion paragraph. All students must submit a WORD or PDF document. Papers must be written in 12-inch Times Roman Font, 1-inch margins. Double space your papers. A minimum of 750 Words (equivalent to 3-pages double spaced).

Personal Reflection: Explain your process of taking the exam/assessment? Explain how you feel about your results. Are you surprised with your results? Do your IAT results match your explicit beliefs? Please write in formal academic writing. Academic writing is clear, concise, focused, structured and backed up by evidence. Its purpose is to aid the reader’s understanding.
Do you think there is there implicit or explicit bias in the criminal justice system? Think about each criminal justice professional (cops, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, correctional officers, probation officers, parole officers, etc…). How can implicit or explicit bias influence police discretion? How can implicit or explicit bias influence prosecutorial discretion? How can implicit or explicit bias influence a judge’s discretion?
