For this assignment you will be reaching out to a professional who is practicing in a vocation which
interests you. You will conduct an interview with this individual which may be done in person, Zoom, skype,
phone or other communication means. It may be helpful for you to choose someone in a career you would
most like to pursue, but this is not essential. Most importantly, you must approach this assignment in
the context of helping you understand the life span development process and how the information
your selected professional provides to you will help shape your study and knowledge of the course
material. This assignment is not a career investigation, but rather an opportunity to consider and
gain an understanding of how the course concepts discussed in Life Span Growth and
Development course apply within a real-world context.
1. Your final report will be at least 1,200 words, double spaced, 1-inch margins, Arial or Calibri style, 12-
point font.
2. Provide an intelligently written reflection of your interviewee’s responses and how this how the
information provided will shape your understanding of aspects of the comprehensive scope of
course subject matter. This is a critical thinking exercise. Be insightful and complete in writing
your viewpoint. Validating course concepts is not the goal of this project, but rather expanding
your understanding.
3. At the time of your scheduled interview, be prepared with a number of questions for your interviewee
which you feel the responses will give you perspective for this assignment and overall study of Life
Span Development. In essence, have some direction of what you would like to know and discover from
your professional’s practical understanding of the life span growth and development process and how
these are considered in their professional activities. You must submit a list of the questions asked of the
individual you interview as well as your notes on their responses. Note: This piece is separate from the
written element of the project.
