Lesson Planning – Practice
This assignment is your first practice at lesson planning. You will select a standard from Iowa Core and complete the document by beginning the planning process.
In my personal experience, each year I would have multiple students with one or more of these common disabilities. It would not be uncommon to have 2 or 3 students diagnosed with two or more disabilities – learning, mental, and/or physical. As you read about common disabilities and co-teaching, consider if this would be teaching situation you would be interested in pursuing.
For this assignment, I have differentiated the resources for you. You can either:
Read the linked website on Common Disabilities. These are disabilities that can be found in every classroom in America.
Or you can:
Use the Google site I have put together with video resources to access the same topics.

Or you can:
Use a combination of both.

To complete this document you will need to select a grade level and content area and go to iowacore.gov and select a standard that you want to plan for – this is your choice. Whatever is most interesting to you.
