Paper Guideline
Students will write a research paper based on an
environmental issue present in the Cayman
Islands. Topics from the textbook can be used to help you.
Students will need to ensure that the
information provided is the most up-to-date information
available about their chosen topic.
Students are required to answer the following questions as
part of their paper.
1. What is the environmental issue facing the Cayman
Islands?
o Define the problem.
2. What is the situation in the Cayman Islands now?
o Pictures should be placed in an appendix.
3. What are the factors/issues that are causing the
issue/situation in the Cayman Islands?
4. What are the solutions to address the issue/situation in
the Cayman Islands?
o You should include examples of what is being done in the
Cayman Islands
community, and in the other parts of the world.
5. What can the students in the class do to help the
situation?
Requirements for the Research paper
1. The paper should be approx. 6-10 pages in length and
adhere to APA guidelines.
2. Adhere to the standards used in English 101 & 102
class. (UCCI has a strict no plagiarism
policy).
3. The paper should contain at least 4 references.
a. (Students should cite the research paper that provides
the information for the
recommendations).
4. All research paper will require a plagiarism report.
Examples are Turn it in/Grammarly.
5. Term papers must be submitted the week before final
exams.
6. All research papers will be marked using the rubrics
provided.
7. Students have the option of turning in their papers early
for grading; if students are
unsatisfied with their grade, they can resubmit the paper
for re-grading. This option
EXCLUDES all assignments/quizzes.
