• Write about a famous sociologist
• Write about a person or group who are prominent in the current media

If you’re unsure about whether your choice is appropriate just email me and I will let you know if it is appropriate!
Once you choose your topic, I would like you to write an essay about this individual or group. Your essay should contain the following subsections (and you should label each section in your paper)
OPENING THE CASE: This is where you will give a description of the biggest issue being addressed by the individual or group. This section should be brief (1 paragraph max) (5 Points)
CASE BACKGROUND/HISTORY: This is where you will get in to the details of your case study. You will probably need to use outside sources to help you with this section. It is expected that this will be 150-250 words in length (10 Points)
CONNECTING YOUR CASE TO THE BIG PICTURE: I would like you to link the information you presented in your case study back to THREE key sociological terms/concepts/theories. In doing so please bold or highlight the key term you are applying. You should be sure to both a) define the term/concept/theory, and b) discuss how it applies to the case you selected. This section should be 150-250 words in length (10 Points)
WRAPPING UP: What are the overall conclusions that you can draw from this case? I should read this and have a clear picture of what this case study can teach us, and where it should lead to next. This section should be brief (1 paragraph max) (5 Points)
Submission Guidelines:
• Minimum Word Count: 400 words minimum (excluding any title information)
• Double Spaced
• Labeled subsections
