This week, you will begin to develop your professional presence by creating an account in Career Network. In preparation for a career in the healthcare administration field, you will be working on identifying your skills and learning how to showcase them in a professional manner with the use of technology and social media. This will be accomplished with the final creation of a professional portfolio later in class.
To access the Career Network, log into the PG Campus and locate the Career Network in the Community Center dropdown menu.
After creating your account in Career Network, explore areas where you can further develop your portfolio (e.g., cover letters, resumes, career assessments, exit interviews, websites, video resumes, portfolios, etc.). These are the areas that you will be working on, in conjunction with your approved resume, to complete your final portfolio in Unit 10.
If you notice, you are awarded points for successfully completing tasks and developing professional presence. Over the next few weeks in the discussion, you will be asked to share your Career Network profile link and total points earned. Who has the highest points? Who has completed the career services assessment? Who will reign supreme in this final quest of professional victory?! Only time will tell, so lets get to work.
