Select an organization that will be the subject for your Application Paper assignments in this course. This could be an organization that you are a part of, for example, your place of employment, or another organization with which you are involved.
Alternatively, you could choose an organization with which you have an interest. If this is your preference, it is your responsibility to read through the Application assignment questions for Weeks 3, 5 and 7 to ensure that you will be able to find answers to each of the questions given.
If you have chosen a large organization (100+ employees/members), your focus will be on one unit or department. If you have chosen a smaller organization (less than 100 employees/members), your focus will be on the organization as a whole.
For this assignment, you will discuss the subject organization from the perspective of High-Involvement Organizations (HIO) and organizational effectiveness. (Chapter 13 pg. 393)
Using the assigned textbooks, online resources, the Internet, and other scholarly and seminal material, write a 6-9 APA style paper. The cover sheet and reference pages are not included in the 6-9 assigned page count.
Provide a brief background of the organization you selected.
Mission and purpose of the organization
List and describe all features of High-Involvement Organizations in a paraphrased manner.
List and describe all HIO features applicable to your organization.
List the results/impact (positive and/or negative) of the HIO features within your organization.
Conclusion
To protect the anonymity of the organization and its members, avoid using specific proper nouns. You may want to use a pseudonym for the organization and employees. Be consistent in referencing this organization throughout the course.
