What sources does the author primarily rely on?

Read A Wicked War, complete short discussion forums, and then either a. a short book review, or a timeline project.
If you choose timeline:
* Students must also make use of the free website https://timeline.knightlab.com/#make to produce a short timeline of the key components of an aspect of the bookthat you have selected.
*You’ll need to add 10 facts about your topic to the timeline.
*You will need to address a. the main themes of how this matter began, what core themes are at stake, and how it is/isn’t or was resolved. Incorporating images is good! And you need at least 3 sources in putting the timeline together (books, journal articles or primary sources).
*The links for your timelines must be submitted to the assignment tool.
If you choose review:
*Assignment: Read A Wicked War, complete discussionforums on the book, and produce a 2-3 page typed paper in which you address the following…
1. What is the thesis of the book?
2. What are the major supporting points to that thesis?
3. What sources does the author primarily rely on?
4. How does the work compare to another source on the subject? Similar? Different? Why?
*Particulars/Structure: The essay is a major writing form, popular in many subject fields—and combined with source analysis, makes this a writing form undertaken by many historians.
*The review must be typed, double spaced, 1 inchmargins, and follow a word processing font.
*It must be a minimum of 2 full pages, and no longer than 3 (the works cited page doesn’t count in that calculation).
*It must be typed in essay format, and avoid 1st person wherever possible.
*Sources: As comparing and contrasting sources in historical works is a central analytical tool—using good sources when creating the work will be essential.
*A minimum of 2 sources must be used in creating the work. Each must be cited in the text of your paper at least once (failure to do so constitutes plagiarism).
*Your sources must be: the selected book, and one book or journal article (in this case your textbook is acceptable). All sources must be an approved academic nature (see source handout for examples of academic sources).
*Citations: All citations in the works cited page or in text must follow MLA, or Chicago/Turabian Citation Style. What does that mean? All sources must be cited a minimum of once within the text, and the citation must occur directly after the sentence in which it is used. Failure to do so constitutes plagiarism, and will result in a minimum of a failing grade on the assignment. A works cited page is also required.
*Sources, Citations, etc…
*Any sources used must be of an academic nature, consult the source handout or myself if you have additional questions (in order to avoid penalties listed in the syllabus). Projects that use mostly non-academic sources will immediately earn a D on the assignment.
*Note on journal sources–.com, .org, .edu, or .gov sources are not considered ‘journal sources,’ and will not be accepted as such. Journal sources are sources published in peer reviewed journals, such as the Journal of American History, or the American Historical Review.
*Any direct quotes or paraphrases must be cited in the proposal using MLA or Chicago/Turabian, which means after the sentence in which they’re used.Having no in text citations, or just putting citations at the end of a paragraph—is grounds for plagiarism.
*Note—“I didn’t know,” doesn’t work, so please consult myself, or any additional sources for further details
