Explain your perspective on the
purposes of schooling and most important considerations for educators. Ground your views
in the history of education as practiced and conceptualized in the United States. Your paper
should not only present your preferred approach to the question of what is worth knowing,
doing and becoming, but also demonstrate that you have thoughtfully considered alternative
