Read Katherine Boo’s Behind the Beautiful Forevers. Her book is mainly a story about a set of families in a Mumbai slum. But in many ways she’s writing about India’s emerging capitalist and globalist economy. In some sense, this book provides a ‘human face’ to the problems associated with global capitalism.
