Write reports on two approved Sac State School of Music concerts of their choice. Information on how to access these concerts can be found on our Canvas course site, along with a link to find the concert programs that contain information you will need to write the reports. Your concert reports should be at least two pages double spaced, and contain the following:
Name of performer(s) or ensemble.
When the concert took place.
Describe at least three of the pieces performed, one of which must be the final piece.
Describe basic details about the pieces, the moods (peaceful, happy, exciting, etc.) and style of the music. Can you tell how those moods were created through the music (fast rhythms, quiet dynamics, slow melodies, etc)?
Does the music evoke any particular images or reflections beyond the music?
Which piece was your favorite or least favorite on the program, and why?
How does this music compare to music with which you are familiar?
Would you recommend this concert to a friend? Why or why not?

1) For each Concert Report assignment, you will need to attend live or watch an online, recorded Sac State School of Music Fall 2021 semester student recital or ensemble concert in its entirety.
2) To attend a live recital (which is preferable both for your full enjoyment of the experience as well as meaningful for the student performing), click this link to see a listing of the upcoming performances. Click on the specific performance link to find attendance details. Make sure to pick up the paper program provided near the entrance to the concert.
3) Or you can view these concerts on the Sacramento State School of Music Facebook page, which is available to the public (no Facebook membership necessary). A copy of the program will be available online (a program is a paper that lists all of the songs or pieces performed). You must access the corresponding program so that you know what the pieces performed are titled and to know the performer details required in your report. See links below for a listing of upcoming concert events, the Facebook site for viewing the concerts, and a link for the programs created for each concert that has taken place this semester.
