Objectives
The objective of this assignment is for students to critically examine the culture of an organization and to demonstrate their understanding of the importance of organizational culture to project management success. Students will submit a reflection of the video, based on their understanding of how organizational culture can impact the success of a project and answer the following questions.
Students will view the “Pike Place Fish Market” video and submit a 4-5 page (excluding cover and reference pages) reflective report based on the following categories of analysis and questions. Answer these questions thoroughly and provide examples from the video to support your points:
Objective: Provide a clearly articulated description of how organizational culture is demonstrated in the video. Identify and describe at least three (3) learning objectives of this video? How effective is Pike Place Fish Market approach to project management ? Explain your answer with examples from the video.
Reflective: This part of the analysis is aimed at understanding how you feel and interpret the video. Here you will provide a summary of those feelings and interpretations. Did the video make you feel enlightened? Confused? Amazed? Stressed? Uncertain? Why? What are the most enjoyable and/or frustrating parts of this video? Where their mistakes made in the Pike Place Fish Market operates? If so, what are those mistakes and what is the impact?
Interpretive: This part of the analysis is focused on what you have learned from the video. What is your main take-away? What new did you learn? Has the video made you change your thinking about how culture is developed in an organization and how different organizational cultures can impact how team members are motivated, engaged and committed to the successful outcome of a project?
Decisional: This part of your analysis will explore how you incorporate your knowledge in your current state of mind. Write a summary that shows how you believe you will be guided by what has been learned from this video. Did this video cause you to change any beliefs and opinions that you might have had before? What are the ways do you believe you can use this new knowledge in the future?
