What was the hypothesis, the reason for the research, the justification, etc.?

Select a topic of interest from your text to develop a two-page article review. Note: this is in addition to the title page. Use document titled “Test Anxiety Paper”. This is the source you should use and the article on which the paper will be about.

Provide a two page summary (in addition to the title page) of the article with the following components:

Title page (in proper APA format). Note: you can use your own title – you don’t have to use the title of the article provided – but it should have something to do with the topic of the article

Thesis/ Hypothesis: the thesis/introduction to subject of inquiry/purpose of the article; the hypothesis tested by the authors

Methods and Findings: detailed, step by step description of the methodology; report the findings/results of the research

Conclusions: what contributed to your understanding; what were elements of the research that were well done; what improvements could be made?

References page (in proper APA format);

Papers should be typed, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, and have one-inch margins.

Last Names, F. (date of publication).The Title of the Article. Journal Name in Italics, vol. #, page numbers. Remember to use hanging indent. Do NOT hit the Enter key at the end of the line. Let it wrap around automatically. Click on the bottom section of the arrows on the ruler at the top of the page (you can insert the ruler by clicking View and then Ruler). Then move the arrow over 5 spaces for the indent.

Provide a two-page review for the article with the reference listed at the top of the page (in proper APA format). Please note that your title page and your references page do not count as part of the two pages. You need to have at least 2 pages of actual typing. Divide the review into three sections:

Thesis/Hypothesis: This is where you will discuss the purpose of the article, provide the thesis and introduction, and tell why the research the article discusses was done in the first place. What was the hypothesis, the reason for the research, the justification, etc.? You must use your own words in this section – no direct quotes, nothing that requires quotation marks. It should ALL be summarized with your wording and then cited.

2. Methods and Findings: Key concepts, tenets, and findings – This is where you will explain the topic points of the article (terms, issues, etc.), the steps the researchers took to test their hypothesis, the basic principles the research upheld, and what they found as a result of the research. Talk about their conclusions and what information the research has contributed to the understanding of the concept in general. Again, no quotes here – only use your own words.

3. Conclusions: You’ll talk about contributions to your understanding of psychology. This section is where you will discuss your reflections on and reactions to the research. What did you learn? Did anything surprise you? Do you consider the research valid/reliable? Why or why not? You need to support your statements with cited evidence. Please avoid vague or euphemistic phrases like ‘It helped psychology out a lot’ or ‘I thought the article was stupid, and I didn’t agree with it’. Neither statement tells me anything in terms of the article itself or reflects an insightful response on your part.
