In your essay you will discuss your major choice. This is an internal, personal reflection based on what you have learned about your major and your future profession. There are no right or wrong answers.

What major did you select to pursue when you started this semester?
What drew you initially to select Engineering, Computer Science or Construction Management?
Were you ever attracted by a particular industry or company? Why did it attract you?
Do you / are you having any second thoughts about the major you selected? (It is OK if you do.) If so, why and have you sought guidance from an academic advisor or counselor to help you?
Do you think the major you selected IS the RIGHT major for you? Why or why not?
Are you excited about pursuing the major you selected? Why or why not?
What did you learn during the course about your major that you didn’t know before, good or bad?
The semester is almost over. Are you proud of your work, dedication and performance this semester so far? If no, why not?
Do you think you currently have the necessary perseverance, dedication and commitment to succeed in a career in Engineering, Computer Science or Construction Management?
Do you know the requirements and timeline you will need to meet in order to be admitted into your major? What are they?
Finally, based on your experiences during your first Freshman fall semester, what do you think you can do to become a better college student?
